Camila Chisco
Camila has a BA in Social Communication and Journalism, and for more than 2 years she worked as the Community Manager of different organizations in Colombia. In 2023, seeking professional growth, she moved to Winnipeg to study for her MA in Peacebuilding and Collaborative Development at CMU.
While doing her BA, she was taught that as a journalist her role was to be the voice of the voiceless and to confront and report injustices while being a standard of truth. Following that lesson, she developed a deep desire to work for the community and serve in the best way, working for organizations with social and humanitarian purposes.
Before ICYA, Camila worked at her church in Winnipeg, where she realized that, alongside her professional dream, she wanted to keep serving in the ministry, using her spiritual gifts, glorifying God.
Camila loves spending time with her two nephews, her family and friends; she likes to read and go for a walk once in a while. She currently serves at her church as a Jr. Youth leader, where she has built relationships with the kids. She feels inspired to see them grow in Jesus' paths.
If you ask her about Colombia, she'll be more than happy to tell all the good stuff about her country.
