Bria Macbeath

Bria first got involved with Inner City Youth Alive through Gem Lake Wilderness Camp. Her family volunteered as cooks in 2016 and 2018, and Bria knew that if she were to work at camp it would be at Gem Lake. So in 2023, Bria worked as camp staff for the first time, and has continued to do so for the last few summers. In between each summer, Bria continued to be involved through volunteering with ICYA's pre-teen drop-in on Wednesday nights and staying connected with campers in that way. Over the last three years, Bria has been studying at Millar College of the Bible, and after graduating in spring 2025 applied to work full time at ICYA. It must have been God's plan, because everything just fell into place around her, and she is now working on the Bridge team as the Volunteer Lead. One of her favourite parts of working here is getting to know the youth and seeing the growth in those she met at camp years ago. Bria loves nature and spending time in God's creation, so when she is not at work she enjoys walks and climbing trees, as well as creating things and working on various projects."
