Gem Lake Camp Needs a New Boat

For thirty years, our Gem Lake boat has carried the most precious cargo — children from Winnipeg’s North End — to our summer camp in Nopiming Provincial Park.

There, they get to replace the noise of the city with the quiet of nature. They get to do activities like fishing, tubing, and banana boating, and sleep in a cabin with their best friends. They get one-on-one time with staff members who make them feel seen and heard.

And, best of all, they’re introduced to the incredible love that Jesus has for them.

But this is only possible if we have a boat to reach the Gem Lake island — and our current boat needs such major repairs that it isn’t worth keeping.

We need your help to buy a new boat and keep this ministry afloat.

Your special Easter gift can help us purchase a new 20 foot aluminum boat to bring children and teenagers from the North End to Gem Lake Wilderness Camp this summer. With your support on board, we can buy a new boat, set it up, and have it ready when the lake thaws. Our counselors can start planning, and our campers can get excited.

Any amount you’re able to give, whether it’s $10, $50, or $100 will be such a help.

This camp is a much-needed safe space for so many youth from the North End. They rely on it. And we need to make sure it stays available to them.

Will you help us buy a new boat?
