Kamara Turner

Kamara grew up here in the north end. This is her home. She has been coming to inner city since she was literally a baby. Her uncle would bring her with when he would come.

Then as she got older, Kamara started to attend the drop in nights with her sisters. Right after she graduated. In 2019, she got hired on as a summer staff for VBS and then hired on as a bridge staff member. She later left ICYA to attend college to become a health care aid. Kamara returned at the end of November of 2022.

She is now part of the Engage Education team. Kamara returned because she felt God was calling her back here for something. She is so grateful to have had this opportunity to come back. With her return, Kamara is praying that she will connect well with the youth and be a huge support for them and someone they can come to that they feel safe with. Some of Kamara’s hobbies consist of colouring, painting and puzzling.
