2007 Community Christmas Party,
Thursday, December 20th
Thursday, December 20th we are hosting our annual
Christmas party for our community in the North End. The party
gives us the opportunity to share the love of Christ to the families
in our community by providing a festive program, a free meal and,
if possible, gifts to every child under twelve. We expect to serve
a meal to 500 people and give gifts to 200 children. So you can
imagine the amount of supplies required to make the night successful.
We are accepting the following donations:

Stories from the Christmas party last year
A young woman came to the Christmas party with
her nieces and nephews. She revealed to a staff member she had
just been diagnosed with cancer. A sad diagnosis for a 21 year
old. She swallowed her pride and asked for some leftover food
for her home, which was gladly given to her. Before she left,
she asked for us to pray for her. It was nice to be able to give
her those wonderful gifts and see her smile when she left the
building.
One of our staff asked a 9 year old boy how
he felt about the toy car that he got at the Christmas party and
he replied, "I love it"! Then he hesitated a bit as
he added, "I think I am going to give it to my little brother
for Christmas."
