In 2008 one-third of our building was destroyed by arsonists. We have turned the devastation into an opportunity of hope… a Building of Hope. The 4,500 square foot space will become our new drop-in at the end of January.
We have over $9,000 left to raise to complete the Building of Hope project and raise the funds needed to run our programs for at risk youth. A great way to contribute is through the “Buy a Brick & Help Build a Life” campaign. Each brick you buy will help us reach our goal.
The gift you give will go toward doubling the drop-in space for more than 460 youth and increase the hours during which our centre is open for them and for the community. It will give the youth more access to programs and physical activities, provide alternatives to being on the street, have space for a quiet room (prayer) and two activity rooms for art, crafts, God Talks and programs to expand their skill sets, as well as a snack bar area for connecting.
Give a brick (or many bricks) in honour of a loved one and help build our youth centre in order to shape the lives of North End youth. For gifts of $100 or more, ICYA will inscribe a brick with your name or the name of a loved one and send a certificate of recognition.
Donations of $1,000 or more will be featured on the Donor Wall, and there are opportunities for Naming Rights. Contact Laurie at 204-582-8779 ext 207 or click to email Laurie Kozak for details.
